Fairway Update

This week the grounds staff used a solid tine to begin to punch holes through the sod layer to help root development and water infiltration into our fairways. After the two day process of solid tine aerification on fairways, the grounds staff applied an organic fertilizer to help continue the grow-in process.

As you can see in this photo there was no disruption to the playing surface immediately after the aerification process.

Upgrades to Diving Board

The old diving board platform had some major safety concerns when inspected by Chris Robinson head of Building Maintenance. As you can see holes had rusted through platform and hand rails were not secured when inspected this spring.

The grounds department began to fabricate a new platform to ensure the safety of all Harmony members when the diving board is in use. In this photo reusable mounting supports are sandblasted to remove all rust and prepped for paint.

All fabrication work is complete in this photo and holes have been marked out for drilling so platform can be mounted. The use of stainless steel hardware will be used as they can stand up to the harsh outdoor environment and not rust.

Diving Board is ready to go just in time for the pool opening.

As you play the golf course you will notice blue dots in the fairways marking Bermuda contamination in the Zoysia. Within the markings of the blue dots we have treated the Bermuda with Fusillade to begin suppressing the Bermuda until we tank mix in Roundup before sod cutting out to remove all contamination.
